Data Scrub before or After

Hey Guys,

Were about to make the move from Fellowship One to Rock.  This is my first post so....please direct me to the right place if this isnt it.

A few questions:

1)Is it best for me to scrub our data while its in F1, or do it after we move over to Rock?

2)Is there a good place for F1 migration tips?

Thanks!

    1) I would say there is no concrete answer.  I would say, cleanup as much as you can in F1 of "known bad data" - meaning, data you wouldn't even want to keep in F1 but just haven't bothered to clean up yet. Examples would be things like Groups that you don't need any more and don't even want the history of anymore. Then once you migrate to Rock, I suggest taking things like that (Groups and related things) and putting them in a "cleaning pot". That is, setup your new Group structure but do NOT put any of those groups in there. Keep them in a "these must be cleaned up" tree and tell your staff they have X months to move those groups they want to keep into the proper place.  Otherwise, they will never do it and you'll be stuck with the same bad structure and old data sitting around forever.

    2) In the Rocket.Chat server, there is a #former-f1 channel that probably could give you some good feedback on how the process went.
