Can I rebrand Rock RMS? How?

Please how and what is the fastest way to make changes to the internal and external footers? How did you make changes to the attribution of Rock site's internal and external footers? Also, are there anything that I might need to modify as regards this and rebranding in order to suit the design of a church which I need to be aware of since am new to Rock? Please is there a central place or file(s) I need to know about in Rock which I might need to make changes to for rebranding in order to easily change all designs to suit the church? I don't mind if it will be overridden during update. I can keep backup and restore of Rock finishes updated (Any best way to keep such backup and restore after update?). Please is Rock update manual or automatic? I mean do you have to decide when to update Rock or it just updates itself even when you don't want to yet?

    1. To modify the footer, there is an HTML block there so if you are logged in as admin, you can roll your mouse all the way to the bottom of the page to bring up the admin toolbar:

Once that comes up, click the "Block Configuration" link which will then show an icon next to all the blocks you can manage on the whole page.  If you scroll down and mouse over the footer icon you will see the option to edit the HTML on the block like this:

Once you click that, you'll be able to edit the footer.  This footer is shared on all pages using the "Right Sidebar" layout so you might have to edit this footer are a few different pages before it will take effect for all layouts on the whole site.  Again, please read through the "Designing and Building Websites Using Rock" manual as this is all explained in there: http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/14/82#managingcontentandpages

    2. To modify those footers, use basically the exact same instructions as above.  Go to the external site, login as Admin using the admin/admin credentials and then you'll have the same toolbars I took screenshots of above.  You can use those to edit the blocks.  The address is a little bit different because it's using a global attribute to pull in the address with Lava.  These can be edited in the General Settings of Rock.  Here is a link to the documentation for that: http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/9/80#generalsettings

    3. This is a more complicated question, but basically you would do this by modifying a couple layout files in your theme:
        /Themes/Rock/Layouts/Site.Master
        /Themes/Rock/Layouts/Blank.aspx

Each of them has a spinner div in it which displays the actually loading animation.  The is inside the updateprogress-status div.  You could swap out the animation in there with the image of your choice.  If you had your own theme on the public site, you would modify these in your theme folder instead of the main Rock theme but these instructions should answer your question.  Again, I'd like to encourage you to read through the documentation here: http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/14/82#themes Most of your questions will be answered by setting up Rock, reviewing the file structure, and reading through the documentation.

    Frank,

I would suggest that you start by reading through the CMS documentation.  Your questions about changing the headers and footers are almost all answered in the documentation here: http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/14/82#anatomyofrockcms

Updates are not automatic but it is incredibly simple: Here you can find documentation on how to update Rock: http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/9/80#updatingrock

If you still have questions after reading through the documentation, please feel free to continue posting your questions here!

Thank you so much for your response, Chuck.

I think I have not been able to get what I needed from the link you gave. Ok, let me get this straight:

    1. How can I modify "Crafted by the Spark Development Network / License" which is located at the button/footer left of the page here: http://rock.rocksolidchurchdemo.com?

    2. How can I modify "Powered by: Rock RMS" and "3120 W Cholla St Phoenix, AZ 850293120 W Cholla St Phoenix, AZ 85029" which are located at the button/footer of the page here: http://www.rocksolidchurchdemo.com?

    3. Also, can the loading image be changed and how?

I think answering these questions helps solve the problem.

    I hope you understand now?
