Viewing Connect Groups on External Site

Does anyone know of a way to display the (connect/small) groups a person is in (Member or Leading) on the external site when they are logged in? Or will this be a future feature when small group check-in is available?

    Hey Brandon,

I beleive you can do this with blocks. Pretty much anything you currently see in Rock is built by blocks and can be moved, or recreated in other places.

I have not done this but Think you would do it something like this:

    1. Create two new pages (My Connect Groups and My Connect Groups Details). Make sure you set the security on these pages so a user must be logged in to see them.
    2. On the details page add the group details block. At this point i would cheat and look at how that block is setup on your internal group viewer. Copy the settings and plan to tweek later.
    3. On your new connect groups page add the group block. Again look at your internal site for help getting this setup. Go to anyone's profile>Extended attrabutes>Groups. I beleive you can set this to only show one group type.
    4. Test it out and tweek to your hearts content.

I hope this helps point you the right direction.

Thanks DJ. I was able to get something like this set up, however I am not able to find a simple way to make only their group visible to themselves. I would have to make each group a security group and add them as the only ones who can view. I'll continue to play around with it but we might have to wait till the small group attendance feature is added sometime next year.

The group toolbox features will be in v3.0. Actually we're working on these blocks as we speak.
