File Manager Root

Going on an answer I found about how to upload a replacement for the email-header file, I tried to use File Manager (use File Manager to go to assets\images). However, File Manager appears to go to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\content, instead of c:\inetpub\wwwroot (which would give me access to the Assets folder.

What's the best way to resolve this?

Hi Herb! You can set the root folder in the block settings. I set ours to ~/ to show the rest of the file structure:

Here's how it looks on the demo site:

Hey Herb! I suggest that you move over to https://community.rockrms.com/chat for real-time responses and collaboration with the entire Rock community. Q&A is slow for immediate needs.

Pro Tip! I suggest adding the File Manager block a second time to that same page and changing the root folder setting as David suggested already. But in the second block change the permissions on it to only show for Rock Admins. That way when any other person with a role lower than Rock Admin hits that page they only see the block with the Content folder structure and start. This will avoid any painful accidents by someone messing with or deleting core Rock files from the full folder tree.

I guess I need to change my original statement a bit. It DOES appear that the root is c:\inetpub\wwwroot, but File Manager only shows the "content" folder, none of the other (many) folders that are in c:\inetpub\wwwroot

David - Thank you for that quick response. Actually, I had put your name in the back of my mind as a possible resource. My church is just a few miles away from yours (we're in Hurst), and I saw Village Church's website, and was super impressed.

OK, I've got to show my newbieness. Where do I find the block settings as shown in your screenshot?

Thanks for both tips. For any other newbie like me, here's where I found what I needed to edit:

Admin Tools > CMS Configuration > Pages > Internal Home Page > Admin Tools > Rock Settings > CMS Configuration > File Manager

Under Blocks From Page see the File Manager entry, and look for the gear icon to the right. That has the edit screen that David mentioned.
