As part of our continued effort to streamline Rock and ensure compliance with current standards, Rock v18.0 will remove several outdated blocks originally introduced in Rock v4 as part of the Self-Service Kiosk (Preview) site.
These blocks were marked obsolete in v15 and are now being removed:
- Give (Transaction Entry - Kiosk) -
Finance/TransactionEntry.Kiosk.ascx
- Prayer Requests (Prayer Request Entry - Kiosk) -
Prayer/PrayerRequestEntry.Kiosk.ascx
- Update Info (Person Update - Kiosk) -
CRM/PersonUpdate.Kiosk.ascx
Additionally, the KioskStark Theme (\Themes\KioskStark\) is also being removed.
After surveying usage with the Rock Star community, we found that only one organization was still using any of these blocks. Based on that, and given their legacy nature, these blocks have officially reached end-of-life and will be removed in this release.
⚠️Not PCI Compliant
The TransactionEntry.Kiosk block was not PCI compliant. If you are still using it, we strongly recommend transitioning to modern, supported giving methods immediately.
These removals help keep Rock clean, secure, and easier to maintain—and make room for better solutions ahead.
